Efficient and friendly service. Excellent selection, fair prices, good food.
The View was absolutely spectacular and our service was good. I would love to return again and again.
We drove an hour and a half to get to this restaurant for my husband's birthday on November 3rd because the website shows that they are opened at noon. We got there about 1:00 p.m. and there were cones blocking the parking lot. My sister called and they said they don't open until 4. Won't take that trek again! You might want to update your website so someone else doesn't end up driving an hour and a half to find out you're closed!!! I wouldn't even give it one start but i had to give it something to be able to post this.
We sat outside on their patio which was wonderfully enclosed with a very thick, clear vinyl substance. Zippers are placed strategically on the vinyl, in case you feel a little closed in. We were able to unzip our area then reclose it at our discretion.
The portions were decent. My friend's meal came out and was undercooked and the management did nothing to correct or resolve the issue. Was difficult to get the wait staff's attention asked 2 different people to send them over, and still had to leave the table go get their attention. The prices were rather high for the limited portions and quality they presented. The saving grace was the AMAZING mountain views from the dining area. Will not return for a future meal after the way we were and weren't treated. Not a family place.
Every Fall Season we drive out Route 2 to the Mohawk Trail for the scenery. When we get out about as westerly as we're going, we always stop at The Golden Eagle on the "Hairpin Turn". We usually have a beer and split an appetizer, yesterday it was a basket of fries which was excellent, hot and tasty fries. We go upstairs to the second story outside deck, what a view. Our server was friendly and attentive.
The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because when our waitress read off all of the specials, she never included any prices. There was between 7 to 10 different specials. Each sounding better than the one before it with their very detailed description. I would have liked the price to follow. I'm interested to know if I'm spending $15 on a portobello mushroom or $50. Some people say if you have to ask for the price you shouldn't go, well I like to know the price before I order ;-)
Wow! What a restaurant! This restaurant is set Within the side of a mountain. Outside on the patio if you look behind the restaurant (picture is listed) you will see that part of the mountain was carved out so this restaurant could be placed in there.
The menu looked wonderful and the prices were very reasonable.
My mom and I came here for dinner and had the wonderful opportunity of watching the sunset over the beautiful mountains.
I highly recommend it!
